Jasper Hulscher

Senior Chiropractor in Bury St Edmunds

Jasper is originally from the Netherlands. He first discovered chiropractic after sustaining an injury while playing hockey. Jasper was referred to a local chiropractor where he found himself fascinated by the skills and techniques that were involved in the profession. After completing a 4-year physiotherapy degree in the Netherlands, he moved to England and successfully completed the 5-year Chiropractic Master of Science degree.

After gaining his qualifications, Jasper moved back to the Netherlands to work at a chiropractic clinic, which he took over two years later. Over the next 4 years, Jasper and his team successfully grew the clinic before making the move to Cambridgeshire and establishing Milton Chiropractic Clinic. Jasper set up Fornham Chiropractic Clinic in 2017 to provide the same outstanding service and quality care to the people of Suffolk.

Jasper has a keen interest in sports injuries and has treated both professional and amateur footballers, cyclists, rugby players and hockey teams.

Becky Hulscher

Chiropractor

01284 220202

Becky Hulscher was brought up in Theford, Norfolk where she became aware of chiropractic from an early age. After injuring her neck and shoulders in a horse-riding accident, Becky experienced frequent pain and stiffness for several months. Her family took her to see the local chiropractor, who treated her injury and put her through a range of strengthening exercises. In just a short time, Becky was free from pain and fully recovered – making her a fan of chiropractic for life.

A people-person with a passion for helping others, Becky knew that chiropractic was the career for her. She qualified with a Masters Degree in Chiropractic and moved to the Netherlands with Jasper to work for two practices before returning to the UK and running Milton Chiropractic Clinic.

Now, together with Jasper, Becky has established Fornham Chiropractic Clinic to provide the same specialist care to the people of Fornham and nearby Bury St Edmunds.

Dan Waldin

Chiropractor

01284 220202

Originally from the Rhondda valley in South Wales, Dan has played rugby since he could run and catch a ball. He enjoyed a successful career that culminated with him being selected for the Cardiff Blues Rugby Academy where he played at openside flanker.

From a young age Dan enjoyed and got involved with many sports, he swam at county level for many years and even played the odd game of basketball – however, most basketball referees disagreed with his rugby approach hence numerous red cards!

Whilst spending more time socialising with friends and supporting his local team – Treorchy RFC than on the rugby pitch himself, he is still passionate about his favourite sport, and would enjoy a bit of friendly banter with you about it when you see him!

Dan enjoys treating people of all ages, sport related or not and is fully licensed under the General Chiropractic Council, is a full member of the British Chiropractic Association, and also of the Royal College of Chiropractors.

Polly Norton M.Sc., DC

Chiropractor

01284 220202

Polly grew up spending time outside with her dog and learning to knit from her nana.

This is a habit she still enjoys to this day, often gifting her family with homemade hats and scarves at Christmas.

She also enjoys food, whether it be sharing food with friends in the house, going out to eat, or enjoying one of her mum’s delicious pies.

Fitness is another key interest for Polly, and this helps her understand the benefit of exercise when it comes to looking after patient health.

Polly spent eight years as a member of her local rowing club in Lincolnshire, and currently enjoys lifting weights and keeping active in the gym.

Polly makes sure to always greet her patients with a huge smile, helping them feel at home.

The most rewarding aspects of her role as a chiropractor are being able to meet so many interesting people and helping alleviate their aches and pains.

She believes one of the most important things for people to learn from chiropractic care is that lower back pain is not the new norm and that there is treatment available to help.

She also believes that what patients do for themselves at home (active care) is just as important as the treatment they receive in the clinic (passive care).

Perhaps, if you ask nicely, she will knit you a scarf!

He is an avid sportsman himself, welcoming every opportunity to take part in distance running, surfing, kiteboarding and rock climbing (which might be a bit of a challenge in Suffolk!)

Matthew Blount B.Sc., M.Sc, DC

Chiropractor in Bury St Edmunds

01284 220202

Growing up with a large family and being the youngest of four boys, Matthew has always had a competitive outlet, taking part in a host of activities, including swimming, rugby, water polo, athletics, water skiing, snowboarding and climbing.

With this passion for health and physical fitness, Matthew decided to complete a Bachelors degree in Sport and Exercise Science at Sheffield Hallam University, directing his interests toward sports nutrition, and strength and conditioning.

During his studies, he worked alongside both collegiate and professional level athletes, working particularly closely with the strength and condition team at the Northampton Saints Premiership rugby club.

After obtaining a first-class degree, Matthew experienced, firsthand, the impact that healthcare had on his father’s rehabilitation following a serious cycling accident. This inspired him to pursue a career in the healthcare industry, and he knew that chiropractic, being holistic and patient-centered, was the path for him.

Aside from work, Matthew loves to push himself both physically and mentally, whether that’s refining his knowledge and skills as a chiropractor, or finding different ways to beat his body up in the gym.

When he is not training, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, going for walks, reading a good book, or unwinding with a film/TV series.

Sarah was born in the UK but has spent the majority of life in Africa. A varied career has seen her owning and running her own restaurants, working for a gold mining company, working in finance, floristry, estate agency and even as an EFL teacher. As a people person she has readily turned her hand to many different roles and disciplines, always looking to bring the same energy and enthusiasm to her work.

In 2012, Sarah left Cape Town with her two teenage daughters and moved back to the UK.

Sarah credits Jasper Hulscher as being the main reason for her wanting to join the team at Fornham Chiropractic Clinic, as he was the only person she had met in the UK who was able to pronounce her name! Chiropractic is also an extremely popular form of treatment for pain and discomfort in South Africa and Sarah was very familiar with the benefits of chiropractic before she joined the team as Practice Manager.

Sarah says, “The best thing about my job is the variety. Every day is different and I get to meet patients from all walks of life. Our clinic is such a happy place to work and the team are all very supportive of one another.

Interesting fact about Sarah: she has never learned to ride a bike.

Working with a chiropractor: what to know

When working with any health professional it is important to know what credentials you should be looking for. This means that they are regulated and monitored by an official body, committed to safe practice.

What else does Fornham Chiropractic Clinic offer in Bury St Edmunds?

As part of each initial consultation we perform with a new patient, we offer Myovision Scanning and Health Scanning. We believe in the importance of understanding more than just a patient’s immediate symptoms so that we can get to the source of any underlying problem and help you to achieve a general improvement in your health. For this reason we typically take blood pressure, BMI, body fat and abdominal measurements.

Find out more about what to expect at your initial consultation here.

As a team of chiropractors we passionately believe that treating musculoskeletal conditions should not simply be a case of prescribing painkillers or sending people to go under the knife. As our understanding of the human body has progressed in recent decades it has become apparent that almost every aspect of our physical and mental systems are interlinked. By building up a clear picture of a patient’s lifestyle and health background we will look to make recommendations and deliver treatments that can make a real difference, rather than simply masking pain and achieving short term relief.

How to make the most of a visit to our clinic

Once you have booked your appointment with us, here are a few pointers to help you feel comfortable and get the most from your consultation.

Arrive early and check accessibility

Always give yourself ample time to find the practice (particularly if you don’t know exactly where it is) to take the stress out of an appointment.

Dress comfortably

Wear comfortable, flexible clothing for your appointment. You don’t have to wear gym gear but we may ask you to stretch and move in order for us to assess your mobility. Wearing tight clothing is certainly not advisable where possible.

Ask questions

There is absolutely no such thing as a stupid question when it comes to your health. If you are paying to see a trained health professional please don’t be too shy to ask for a full explanation if there is anything you aren’t clear about.
